Chisinau, February 2016. Within
the framework of the EU Twinning project „Strengthening of the standards and metrology sector according to the best practice in the
EU Member States”, representatives from the National Institute of Metrology, the Ministry of Economy, the National Accreditation
Center, the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices, as well as from private enterprises, took part in a series of seminars on
Directive 2014/32/EU MID (and 2014/31/EU NAWID), held by Dr. Peter Ulbig (Department of Legal Metrology and Technology Transfer, PTB,
Germany). The seminars gave an overview of various important legislative aspects, such as the changes in Moldovan legislation
concerning measuring instruments for Moldovan manufacturers, and the requirements on notifying authorities for interested
ministries. Also within the framework of this activity, Dr. Ulbig gave a presentation titled "Measuring instruments made in
Moldova for a European market - principles and chances" at the exhibition “Made in Moldova”, held at Moldexpo Exhibition Hall.
The presentation was attended by a large number of participants: representatives of the MoE, manufacturers of measuring
instruments, laboratories of metrological verification, and students.
